Identity and Security
Veriplace supports industy-leading open standards for both Authentication and Authorization, ensuring a simple user experience while keeping user location information secure and protected.
Authentication and authorization always occur through the Veriplace Privacy Manager and always use a consistent interface, giving users a central -- and trusted -- place to manage their location.
Authentication
Veriplace supports both a standard login form and the OpenID standard for authentication, allowing users to choose the authentication mechanism that they trust the most. Additionally, developers may support OpenID in their own applications to create a streamlined login experience, where both the application and Veriplace authenticate using the same OpenID provider.
Authorization
Once a user is authenticated, they must still authorize applications and other users to use their location. Veriplace uses the OAuth standard to support delegated authorization, allowing applications to act "on behalf of" users, while keeping users in control over what each application can do with their location.
